Artist Bio:
Ryan was a casual painter until the global pandemic. Mental struggles and diagnosis’ of Generalized Anxiety Disorder, and ADHD, caused Ryan to turn to art for therapy. Most of what he paints is what he’s feeling, or emotions he’s trying to express in the moment in true neo-expressionism styling. His paintings represent being “woke” or being “awake”, and “not having the wool pulled over your eyes”. Each painting shows pure raw emotion, in some cases the battle between anxiety and ADHD. While in full pandemic swing Ryan discovered his father had been battling throat cancer, which resulted in his fathers loss of speech. You can see the symbolism of his father’s loss of communication and illness in many of Ryan’s works.
“Every painting represents not believing in everything you hear or see in the media or internet. These paintings also represent a few conspiracies and a few truths, like the ‘all seeing eye’, or the ‘illuminati’. ”
