Artists Biography
As a child I grew up in Devon/Cornwall on the South coast of England. My father who painted and drew as a hobby spent 35 years in the Royal Navy. When he retired he turned to art as an income.
I spent time with my father during vacations, drawing beside him. I majored in Art during my school years.
My life career took me to nursing, from there I spent 14 years as an Army wife. Our family emigrated to Canada in 1988, my husband at that time was Canadian, and we had two small boys aged 4 and 22 months.
The boys and I lived in Ottawa for 18 years. I moved to Kingston with my younger son in 2005. Since I have stopped nursing after 20 active years in the profession, spread over 45 years and four countries, I have enjoyed my art again. I have taken some classes under Andrea Mossop in Brockville, otherwise I am self taught.
I enjoy oils, pastels, watercolours and charcoal. Landscapes and portraits are my main focus. Now living in Kingston’s west end with my second partner, I have 6 grandchildren, and my second partner has 7 grandchildren. Between us we have 13 grandchildren. Plenty of fodder for my portraits.
I continue to visit the UK and France to see my close family there. We also have family in Tennessee. These beautiful places along with Canada, provide many opportunities for landscapes.
