Carol Jackson
Canadian artist, Carol Jackson, resides in Loyalist Township. Growing up, she spent many hours doodling and dreamed of being an artist. However, life took her in a direction but she promised herself that someday she’d pursue her “creative side”. After 32 years in the work force, retirement happened and she finally started her artistic journey.
She enjoys working with a variety of mediums – acrylics, oils, charcoal, pastels, watercolour, and mixed mediums – exploring the many facets of art: intricate shapes, both soft and vibrant colours, composition, textures, etc…
She is excited when others make a connection with any of her pieces; especially, when they express that a particular piece of art reminds them of a memory in their past, a place they’ve been, of someone they know, or, instills in them feelings of joy, calmness, the warmth of a sunny day, coolness of the fall air, etc. She says the connections, the viewer makes, is a form of praise, that she greatly appreciates, and it adds to the incentive for her to keep creating.
