GNAAA 2022 5th Annual Juried Art Exhibition

Colours from the Heart Art Exhibition is open to all GNAAA members in good standing. Artists may submit original artwork only (oils, acrylic, watercolour, mixed media, fibre art, charcoal, pencil, ink, pastels). No copies, no works done in class.

WORKS ACCEPTED: Hanging art, 2D or 3D accepted any medium, max size 36 in. width or height. If under glass, max size is 24 in. Please submit artwork completed within 24 months of the Show date. 

HANGING: Must be wired properly to hang (wires 1/3 to 1/4 from top edge of piece, sharp ends wrapped), D-rings or similar. Label all pieces on the back with title, price, size, medium and name 

CANVAS: At least 1½” deep, sides painted, OR framed if less than 1½”. If paper (e.g. watercolour), piece must be matted and framed ready to hang. 

THE SHOW: All entries will be juried into the Show. Juror’s decision is final. Paintings will also appear in the KSOA online art gallery. All entries must be available for sale and will remain until Show closing, even if sold.

BIOS: You are invited to provide a brief, one-page artist bio that includes your contact info, applicable education, awards and memberships and your creative vision/motivation or commentary on your work i.e. your Artist Statement. 

JUROR: Heather Savage is Curator of the Marianne van Silfhout Gallery at St. Lawrence College Brockville. She is a mixed media artist and a Professor of Drawing in the Fine Arts Faculty at St. Lawrence College. Heather’s Bio

SCHEDULE: 9 to 10:30 am, Thursday, September 1, drop off artwork at the Window Art Gallery, Kingston. NOTE: Late arrivals cannot be accommodated.

10:30 am to 1:30 pm, artwork is juried

2:30 to 4:30 pm, Juror comments and/or pick up of unaccepted art

9:00 am to 12 noon, Friday, September 2, art will be hung

9:00 am to 12 noon, Saturday, September 30, artists will pick up their paintings at the Gallery.

AWARD LIST: 1st Prize – $300 – the Exit Realty Award of Excellence

2nd Prize – $200 – The RWTO – Napanee Branch Award

3rd Prize – $150 – The Celebrating Arts & Culture, Greater Napanee Award

up to 3 honourable mentions, $50 each, at Juror’s discretion

AWARDS RECEPTION: 1:00 TO 3:00 pm, Saturday, September 3, 2022 at the Window Art Gallery.

SALES All sales will be processed by the WAG. NOTE: A commission of 20% of the price listed by the artist will be retained by the Window Art Gallery. All paintings must be for sale.

TRANSPORTATION 

AND INSURANCEDelivery and pick-up of the art is the sole responsibility of the Artist who must adhere to the terms and schedule in this document. Packing artwork for transportation is the responsibility of the Artist. Each artist must sign a waiver of insurance for the KSOA/WAG and for GNAAA. 

NOTE: The WAG will not store any art past the designated pick up date.
